CTE elements are recommended for low to medium braking requirements. Manufactured as unidirectional brakes, developing substantially less torque in the reverse drum rotation than in the forward drum rotation.

Eaton Airflex Spring Applied Drum Brakes - CS
Eaton Airflex spring-applied drums automatically engage in the event of air pressure or power loss. Engineered for many moderate-speed, high-torque cyclic applications. Spring applied drum brakes maximize operations and protect machine equipment. A flow control valve is often required in order to regulate fast brake stopping times.
CS drum brakes incorporate a two shoe drum design. Manufactured to be self-energizing when mounted with the proper drum rotation. The brake operates in a single direction, developing less torque in the reverse direction of drum rotation.
