Eaton Airflex Multi-Disc Clutches & Brakes - AR
Eaton Airflex multi-disc clutches and brakes are simple and compact in design. The specialist design enables smooth operations in high-torque applications with small envelope ratios. The torque is transferred from the driving to the driven machine and is accomplished by means of an externally slotted driven cup that engages external lugs on the driving disks. The sintered bronze friction material offers a strong resistance to wear.
AR units require through-the-shaft power connection since the hub and piston rotate with the shaft. This style provides maximum torque capacity in minimum space and large bore size for maximum torsional stiffness. It is ideal for brake applications.
A transmission lube pump is generally adequate as a source of actuating pressure. The clutch hub is custom bored and keyseated for shaft mounting. The actuating cylinder rotates with the clutch and actuation is accomplished through internal shaft and clutch passages.
